Another Reason I Do NOT Want My Children To Grow Up

I dread my children growing into those monsters we call teenagers. As if the current culture of our society wasn't reason enough to want to run screaming the moment the first turns 13, there are another laundry list of reasons that add up this time every year.

Girls, it is 60 degrees out, barely. Shorts that your ass hangs out of are not appropriate attire for another two months, nor do they go with those ugly, furry Ugg boots. If you need to wear winter apparel on your feet, skip the shorts.
Driving down the street with every window in the car down blasting Justin Bieber will not make you cool. If you want to listen to music in the car, the entire neighborhood does not need to listen to it either.
Using your parents car for joyriding around town does not make you special. You are special when you are driving your own car you bought and paid for, and insure yourself. One slip of the wheel while you are texting your BFF is going to cost your parents more than they may have.
Dirt Bikes are meant for the DIRT. I mean, that is where they got their name from right? They do not belong on the streets. If they are not a registered motor vehicle with turn signals and a license plate I will spend the summer calling the police on you.
Smoking is not cool. It never has been and never will be. It kills you.
Standing on a main road at a dangerous curve in the middle of the road dancing while waiting for your younger siblings bus is not smart. You will get hit by a car, then your dance routine you have been working on is out the window.
If you hear my dogs barking at you, do not stop at the end of my driveway and proceed to stand there or taunt my dogs. I will come outside and yell at you.

Some days I really hate teens.

The Schooling Debacle

Home School, Public School, Private School, Unschool... God damn there are way too many options when it comes to figuring out what kind of education to provide for your kids.

Before I met the internet blogging world, I only thought there were really two options, public school or private school. Growing up no one home schooled or at least no one that I was raised around, the concept was beyond foreign. Unschooling wasn't even a thought, but the way I look at it, it can certainly be compared to parents who didn't send their children to school period.

When it came time for me to really decide what kind of educational path I chose for my children I did not make the choice with a light heart, or to be off the beaten path. My choice would impact my child forever. From their education, to the possibility of college, career, everything. I mean everything!

My first thought was I would love to home school. Then a million questions and thoughts ran through my mind like the hamster on that stupid wheel at 2 in the morning, one day my children will wake up to no hamster!

I want to kill my kids by noon as it is, do I really want them home all the time, when I have the option to ship them out?
Am I qualified to give my children what I feel is a quality education?
How will it impact their opportunities for continuing education after the standard schooling period?

I talked myself right out of home schooling. Looking back I am glad I made that decision because the boys are thriving in their current educational environment. And I don't feel as though the education I have is enough to provide them with proper schooling.

Now that home schooling was out of the picture, I didn't have to worry about unschooling, not that I would really be interested in that from the get go. Something about the concept to me is upsetting. I understand it is perfect for some families, and I don't understand much about it but I feel as though some of these people aren't doing anything more than setting their children up for failure in their adult lives.
Like it or not, I feel as though children have a strong need for some form of structure in life.

It was down to public or private knowing the vast majority of the private schools in our community are structured around religion which has zero interest to me. My husband on the other hand was born and raised shackled to a church so the thought of getting the children some kind of religious teaching was a positive to him, partly because I do not force my kids to go to church. Call me a bad mother, I dont think kids should be forced into religion. Especially if it is a religion filled with pedophiles every way you turn.

Along with my reservations on religious schooling, and the price tag that goes along with it, I won the battle for public school. We already pay more than enough in taxes, why tack on another $12K per year for our children at this point, and even more with each child we have, since I am certainly not done.

In the end public school has become a great option for our family. My children are truly being educated. Being taught to read, write properly, and learn skills they will need for adulthood.
It is nice to think about all kinds of alternative options but we have to consider what we are really setting our children up for.

Though the Tea Party supporters have greatly decreased in the past calendar year, they seem to be popping up in the news the past week since April 15th, Tax Day was last week. I wanted to express some of my feelings on the Tea Party situation as a whole in one post. I probably won't revisit the subject unless these elderly nut jobs start bombing things or committing acts of terrorism in the name of patriotism.

First things first. Sarah Palin? Really? I think we all know my track record with the former VP candidate and Governor of Alaska. As it stands, I still think my dog could do a better job at most things, including mothering her brood. Could these Tea Party supporters not have access to anyone better? The majority of Americans think she is useless so the new cause de jour picks her up to be a spokes woman? If you guys really want to be taken seriously drop Airhead Barbie and pick up that other nut job Glenn Beck.
Does this mean the Republican's don't want her back?

Second, watch your words. Encouraging citizens to take up arms against the government could be considered a serious terrorist threat in the times we live in. Domestic terrorism is not special, it does not make you any better than the extremists that flew planes into the Twin Towers, and it certainly doesn't get anything accomplished, especially change. Bill Clinton was right when he warned you to watch your words.

Third, where are all the blacks at your rallies? The Tea Party movement certainly looks to me like a bunch of older, wealthy whites. I think Andy Ostroy hit the nail right on the head when he wrote The Tea Party Movement Isn't About Racism? Read This... After reading that, I took a stroll over to The New York Times which released the findings of a poll focused around the new Tea Party Movement. Their findings?
Tea Party Movement Supporters tend to :

Be White
Be Male
Be Married
Over the age of 45
With Conservative Republican Views
Classify themselves as "angry" with Washington
Place the majority of the blame on Obama (that is a whole post in itself)
Believe the current administration favors blacks over whites

All extremely telling for me at least. I am not racist by any means, but I can certainly see the divide between the races, even more so once Obama took office. In the article is shows the majority of the Tea Party Supporters feel as though Obama does not share the views of Americans. In other words, according to these new radicals, the majority of Americans are white, church going, conservatives, certainly not the case. Another reason why Obama was voted in to begin with.

If that is the majority, then someone needs to run that by the majority that run in my circle up here in the great white North East that would rather go out shopping or fishing on Sunday rather than run down to the local chapel for a snooze.

But the movement wouldn't be your typical post Republicans if they weren't hypocrites. The majority of the Tea Party Supporters do not want any changes made to their social security benefits, or medicare, two large government programs in many cases highly funded by the government they are bitching and moaning about.

To wrap it all up, I want to share a quote which was at the tail end of the New York Times article on the poll.

“He’s a socialist. And to tell you the truth, I think he’s a Muslim and trying to head us in that direction, I don’t care what he says. He’s been in office over a year and can’t find a church to go to. That doesn’t say much for him.”

Said by Kathy Mayhugh, 67, a retired medical transcriber in Jacksonville. Mrs. Mayhugh, buying into propaganda of this nature puts you in the same category as Palin, uneducated.

Pro Choice Means Exactly That!

I came across this blog recently titled RealChoice though some right wing nutjob I have on my facebook friends. Needless to say, after said friend became a fan of this blog, and I read a post on RealChoice, they ended up in my friend trash can.

But that bothered me about the whole concept of the post I read entitled Newsweek author asks wrong question is that the thinking behind the post implies all pro choice people are basically killing an entire generation because of course being pro choice means we kill all our baybeeees and have no desire to be a mother. Which in reality could not be further from the truth, especially with over 4 million babies being born annually and we know they aren't all part of the Duggar Cult.

Unfortunately for said pro life author this could not be any farther from the reality of the women who are giving birth in our country. While us crazy liberal mothers aren't cranking them out like the Duggars, we certainly are actively having children, and sometimes stopping short of any children we could not afford. GASP! Isn't that a conservative quality??

The fact is, the anti choice breeders may be cranking them out, but there aren't enough of them birthing like rabbits to actually out number the amount of pro choice actively birthing wanted children.

Another fact of life these brainwashed breeders are forgetting is they may pop them out like pez dispensers, but that doesn't mean their children are going to turn out to be perfect Christian pro life breeders like mommy.

The teen pregnancy and purity balls may be up right now, but they are certainly coming to a quick end, just like the crisis pregnancy center shams.

I am a pro choice mother, and I plan on popping out as many as my husband and I can afford... so boo ya RealChoice!

Do Teens Understand Their Actions?

Over the past couple years, from TV to internet message boards, I have noticed a large number of teens, meaning from 13-19 actively trying to get pregnant. Whether they are over 18 and married, or 13, unable to drive, work, or support the child they may bring into the world.
And it really peaked my interest in starting to investigate more about teen pregnancy. Some of the information I came across was eye opening, and floored me.
But the question that burns in my mind most of all is, what are these young girls missing in their lives that they are out actively trying to get pregnant by whatever boy they come across? Is their home life lacking something? Attention, love, connection with their parents, discipline? What?

Now, don't get me wrong. I consider myself to be a young mother, when I got pregnant with my first child I was 21 years old and gave birth to him when I was 22 years old. But there were big differences between the situation of these children, and mine. First being, I was independent and not living under the roof of my parents, another was I had my own medical insurance, owned my own car, had a drivers license, worked full time, and was in a committed relationship with someone who supported me 100% not only emotionally, but also monetarily because shortly into my first trimester I had to resign from my job because of pregnancy related complications. We were adults, and capable of dealing with all the situations being handed to us as the pregnancy, and parenthood went on.

Could I have handled that at 14 years old? Hell no! Would my mother have kicked my ass? HELL YA!

Children of teen mothers are more likely to be teen parents themselves, teen's also receive less than adequate pre natal care in most cases, which not only increases their risk category, but it also increases the risks to the baby they give birth to. Children of teen parents have a greater risk for developmental delays, as they grow, children of teen parents tend to be in poorer health than children of adult women. According to parents' reports of their children's health status, 60% of children born to non-teen mothers were rated in "excellent" health, compared to 38% for children born to the youngest adolescent mothers.
These are not small numbers, these are big numbers and they have a direct and lifelong impact on these children.
To move on, the children born to these teen mothers also are at a higher risk to be an "indicated case" of child abuse or neglect. While I cannot tell you why, I can speculate a few things. One being that these children do not know how to properly care for children themselves, and the other being, they do not want to give up their own lives which we all know when you have a child, your personal life goes straight out the window. Little Sally won't be able to go to the mall with her home girls anymore when she wants to because she has a baby she needs to take care of, it is not a doll that can just be left behind.
Children born to mothers age 15 and younger are two times more likely to become an indicated case of child abuse/neglect in the first five years of their lives than are the children born to mothers age 20-21.
The list goes on, children of teen mothers are more likely to drop out of school, son's of teen mothers are more likely to be incarcerated, daughters of teen mothers are more likely to become a teen parent themselves, and are more likely to live in poverty and not have an even start to life.

These are not all things that I made up, these are facts and statistics taken from The Teen Parent Child Care Quality Improvement Project.

When I see these young girls bragging about going out to try and have a baby with just anyone, not only does it piss me off as a parent, but it makes me want to be an actual parent to them because it is clear that there is something lacking at home.
These girls do not know what it really takes to be a parent, and the only people it will come back on is their parents, society, and that poor helpless child.

Feminism Doesn't End at Choice....

Meaning, in so many words, our pro choice goals as feminists, should not stop once a woman has made the choice to continue her pregnancy to term.

We are seeing a current epidemic of women who are losing their own reproductive freedom's during pregnancy and at the time of birth. There is a large epidemic of court ordered cesarean sections, which can and has already been compared to rape.
We have seen this currently in the case of Joy Szabo who was told if she showed up at her local hospital to give birth (VBAC) she would be court ordered to have a cesarean section against her will. Which in turn completely violates the laws regarding informed consen t.
Then we move on to the case of Amber Marlowe who was told after a routine late term ultrasound her baby was 13+ pounds and she needed a cesarean, after giving birth vaginally to her previous 6 children with no issue. Hospital staff went to the court, and they were granted a court order to perform a "medically necessary" cesarean and petitioned to become the "guardian" of the unborn child. Talk about out of a movie huh? She went to a different hospital and delivered, vaginally, a healthy 11 pound baby with no complications.
Now had the first hospital got their hands on this woman, she would have been subject to serious unnecessary major surgery.

Then the case of Laura Pemberton in Florida. Refused a c-section and signed herself out of the hospital AMA, and went home to continue to labor on her own. While in labor, she was met with a knock on her door, and handcuffed, and returned to the hospital for a court ordered c-section after the hospital told a judge that the risk to the baby from uterine rupture was significant. I am sorry, but a less than 1% chance, is not significant when the risk of the child actually DYING is three times greater with an elective c-section.
The cases go on and on. But why is there such a problem?
Well, for one we are not living in the Orwell Novel 1984. Our government should not be making medical decision for us, nor should Doctors solely be making these choices. We are constantly hearing the Pro Choice crowd picketing and arguing about the rights of the pregnant women when it comes to abortion, but what about those SAME pro choice women that make a decision to keep their baby, or plan to get pregnant. Of Course they should still get the same kind of treatment regarding the medical decisions they make during their pregnancy and birth.

It is a truly scary day in America when women lose their rights simply because they are pregnant.

I never thought I would agree with anything Dr. Amy had to say, but she wrote a great blog yesterday about Sarah Palin and her hate...

What Sarah Palin can teach us about hate

Sarah Palin burst onto the national scene slightly more than a year ago at the Republican National Convention. Since then she has gone from disaster to disaster: she fatally weakened the Republican ticket, committed countless ethical violations, and couldn't even manage to govern the State of Alaska. Through it all, she has demonstrated herself to be simultaneously a blithering idiot and a confirmed narcissist.

On the eve of publication of her new book, it is worth examining Palin's one outstanding talent, her ability to incite hatred. The contemporary GOP is a party fueled on hate. Hate is the stock in trade of O'Reilly, Limbaugh and Beck, so it is no small feat that Sarah Palin could claim to be the hater-in-chief. In her rapturously received speech to the Republican convention she gave what amounted to a clinic in inciting hatred. It is worth looking back at that speech and how she did it.

Psychologists have recently published findings on the five steps in the development of collective hate (Making a Virtue of Evil: A Five-Step Social Identity Model of the Development of Collective Hate, Soc Per Psych Compass 2/3 (2008): 1313–1344) and Palin seems to have embraced the model enthusiastically. According to the researchers:

The five steps are: (i) Identification, the construction of an ingroup; (ii) Exclusion, the definition of targets as external to the ingroup; (iii) Threat, the representation of these targets as endangering ingroup identity; (iv) Virtue, the championing of the ingroup as (uniquely) good; and (v) Celebration, embracing the eradication of the outgroup as necessary to the defence of virtue.

Let's look at how Palin accomplished those aims.

Identification, or I'm just like you: Palin led with a description of her family, proudly proclaiming, "Our family has the same ups and downs as any other ... the same challenges and the same joys." She emphasized her large family size, her family members in the military, her special needs child, her husband's blue collar job and her parents' background as farmer and small business person.

Exclusion, defining the other: Palin was quick to claim that her opponent talks one way in Scranton to working people (us) and another way in San Francisco (them, and they're gay, too) supposedly deriding religion and gun ownership. Palin invokes the Washington elites (them) as if the Republicans didn't hold the presidency, vice presidency, Supreme Court, and other major positions of power.

The threat: Her opponent supposedly wants to turn his back on victory in Iraq; her opponent wants us to be threatened by oil producing nations; and, worst of all, terrorists are trying to attack us and her opponent still cares about the Constitution.

Virtue: Her group is uniquely good. She implies that they, and they alone, are the people who care about family, about religion, about patriotism, about sacrifice, and she is sure that God cares uniquely about her group.

Celebration: Finally, the call to action, the insistence that the defeat of the other is required to defend the values of family, religion, patriotism and sacrifice.

Not only was the structure of the speech designed to evoke hate, the very words and the delivery were chosen to ridicule, demean and denigrate. She made is quite clear that her opponents are not merely political opponents, they are people unworthy of the basic respect that should be due to any individual, let alone two Senators who have served their country well.

Sarah Palin was perhaps more honest than she intended to be when she described herself as a pit bull with lipstick. She implied that she is vicious, immoral, bred to attack, and fed on misery and hate. The crowd lapped it up. She carefully followed the script for inciting hatred and the audience responded with thunderous applause. It was a virtuoso performance in the art of hate.

I know I said I was going to say goodbye to my favorite personal punching bag Sarah Palin, but this chick is out of her mind. Today she has come out and called Obama and his health care plan "evil" and in so many words said her infant son, who suffers from Down Syndrome will be "sentenced to death".
Are you kidding me?
YOU had a child, YOU care for him.
It is not rocket science.
You are raking in all this money from your book deals, interviews, and whatever else you are doing up there in no mans land, the least you could do is support all the kids you choose to crap out.

Freedom My Ass

So today I stumbled upon an article in Time magazine about The Marine Corp's now limiting the type of social networking sites that Marines are allowed to participate in. Which in my opinion is a total breech of freedom, but hey, I am one of these crazy liberals right.

The United States military is lucky enough people are still enlisting with the current state of the world and how our country thinks that we are the world police, but to start adding more limitations on these men, who are already going through enough is way too extreme.

These social networking sites are aiding soldiers to keep in touch with family members millions of miles away, see pictures of their children who they cannot see or touch... Lets go away and take that lifeline.

Soldiers are not dumb enough to post private information or information pertinent to whatever mission they are on, or even where in the world they are located.

One more step to turn our country into Big Brother.

More Housewife.... than Politics...

Today I feel the need to post something a little bit more housewife than politics.
Lately I have been lagging extremely on my household chores, from letting my boys laundry back up, to letting my own laundry back up. Having a dirty kitchen floor and foyer, a sink full of dishes and two extremely filthy dogs.

So I started with the dogs first thing, well, dropped them off at the groomer. They were so gross I didn't even want to let them in my car!!!! I tattooed the way back with every non shower towel we own and off we went. I thought my poor groomer was going to have a heart attack when she saw them. Oh, guess we are getting charged more. $120 for the both of them. Hell, I thought it was going to end up being $200 for the both of them.

Then came the laundry and floor. Throw the laundry in, mop the kitchen floor, all while starting the dish washed and watching all of my children.
I feel like super woman after all of this.

I can do anything I guess.

Multitasking is a wonderful gift you get when that first child is wrenched from your womb.

Your kids are out of control

I like to consider myself pretty tolerant. Having more than one child, especially little boys has done that to me over the years. But a friend of my husband's childhood is in town, so they came over to our house this morning for a short visit.
And I am glad it was short!
As if the children fighting over toys and video games, and pushing my toddler around wasn't enough, then the mother of all things happened. While RUNNING in the house, which we don't allow to begin with, the youngest of the 3 hellions TRIPPED and the OPEN chocolate milk he had in his hands FLEW all over my WHITE couch which we just had cleaned YESTERDAY.

Now I know most will wonder, why have a white couch with kids? Why? Because we do not eat in our living room, we do not have open drinks in our living room on the furniture, we do not run with food or drinks in the house, and so far, in the two years we have had this couch, with kids, we haven't had any accidents.

Seriously, some people should really evaluate the behavior of their children before dragging them to others homes.

32% of polled American's said Sarah Palin should take on the "career" of homemaker.
Really shows what the American people think.

My opinion, yes, she should become a homemaker. Her children have greatly suffered from her period of time in politics. We have comedians taking shots at her young teen daughter, her oldest daughter is now a single teen mother, and she also has a baby with a serious mental retardation.
Maybe slowing down and being one on one with her children would benefit them, instead of herself and what she can do being her first priority.

Now, I am well aware that there are mothers out there that NEED to work, but in her case, her husband and herself did just ducky for how long without any issues?
Maybe her daughter would have never got pregnant, engaged, broke up, and a single mother all within one year.

Who Would Have Thought?

Who would have thought?
Sarah Palin, stepping down as governor, just in time for the announcement that she is being investigated for ethical violations.

Surprised? Nope! I certainly am not.

Now we all know I was a very outspoken advocate against Sarah Palin to begin with because of her IQ and the way she made women in general look, but now this is just the icing on her Jerry Springer, cigarette paste cake.

So, in a tribute to Sarah Palin, I am going to go over the wonderful time line of events she graced us with over the past years.

November 7th, 2006 - She is elected Governor of Alaska.
April 18th, 2008 - Sarah Palin gives birth to her 5th child in true pro life breeder style. Her son Trigg, is revealed to have downs syndrome, but that doesn't stop her from jet setting all over the US in the last days of her pregnancy, and getting on a plane while in labor for an 8 hour flight back to Alaska knowing that the child she is giving birth to would need serious medical care at birth. Mom of the year right? But it is ok, because she is praised by anti-abortion advocates for her not terminating her pregnancy. Then she dumps the kid off on other people and goes back to work 3 days after giving birth to him.
July 2008 - Ethics probe starts into finding out whether or not Sarah Palin misused her power to have her former brother in law fired from his job as a state trooper. Surprise Surprise!
August 29th 2008 - John McCain throws the Presidential election right into the lap of Barack Obama by picking small down mayor turned Governor to be his Vice President running mate. A woman who has been governor for barely two years and has virtually no experience in National Politics, which she proceeded to show in her interviews.
September 1st, 2008 - Sarah Palin announces that her oldest teen daughter Bristol is knocked up by her boyfriend Levi Johnston. Clearly the abstinence programs she had been promoting and funding as a governor failed her own child. But maybe if she wasn't too busy for her kids, and actually was a full time parent to her daughter, this would have never happened.
September 11th, 2008 - First early interviews prove she is as stupid as people claimed her to be.
September 11th, 2008 - Her eldest son Track (where does she pull these names out of?) deploys to Iraq and she feels the need to make a huge deal out of it. Um, we are at war, welcome to being a parent of a soldier. You aren't the first parent to send your boy off to war, and you will not be the last.
October 2nd, 2008 - Vice Presidential debate, where Joe Biden smashed her. The only thing that kept her semi afloat was the fact that she kept winking at the camera like she was in a beauty pageant. I was waiting for her to pull out her flute and start marching around stage for the talent portion.
October 10th, 2008 - An inquiry into the abuse of power claim by Alaska lawmakers shows that Sarah Palin did in fact abuse her power as governor while trying to get her former brother in law fired.
October 18th, 2008 - Sarah Palin does Saturday Night Live and basically pokes fun at herself, yet after the election is up in arms about how people like Tina Fey portrayed her.
November 4th, 2008 - Bid for Vice President ends. She lost the election for John McCain.
November 7th, 2008 - McCain aids criticize Palin for her actions such as the $150,000 wardrobe budget, being duped into talking to Canadian comedians, and her comments in public in general.
April 2009 - Palin struggles with the legislature and people who were once alliances to Palin have since turned on her saying that she is more concerned with her public image than she is concerned with the budget and state of affairs in Alaska. Especially turning down stimulus money that the Alaskan people could have greatly benefited from, but she put her pride first.
May 12th, 2009 - Palin made a deal with a popular publishing company to pen her memoir. Taking her personal interests and putting them above her duties as governor and mother.
June 8th, 2009 - Palin decides to "drop in" at a Republican fundraiser dinner which she originally said she could not attend when asked to be their special guest.
July 3rd, 2009 - Well donchaknow Sarah Palin decides to resign. She holds a small, last minute press conference on a holiday weekend trying to do it under the radar and tells the people of America she is resigning as Governor of Alaska, but doesn't give any real reason for her decision.
July 14th, 2009 - The truth comes out! Sarah Palin is under investigation regarding unethical activity in her "Palin Legal Fund" helping to raise funds for their mounting legal bills. Booya!

While it has been fun, really fun, to make fun of her over the past year, it is almost sad that this women, is this dumb. Maybe she should just go back to being a mom and focus on her kids before her other two daughters follow in the footsteps of their oldest sister who now has a bastard child her parents pay for and an absent baby daddy.

Why would I want to watch a reality show about raising children hosted and focusing on a woman who is not even responsible enough to care for her own children and expects her parents to care for her children?

Yesterday while running chores, with a car full of children, I almost got into 3 car accidents. All from people who were not paying attention in their car.

First example, elderly woman that could not see over her steering wheel. Ran a stop sign. Straight through. Didn't try to pause. Didn't try to stop when she saw me coming. Just continued along like she was the one in the right.

Second example, soccer mom, driving a hummer, on her cell phone, crossed the yellow line on to my side of the road. Maybe you should get off the phone before you kill someone.

Last but by far not the least, two cars, waiting at a stop sign, side by side, blocking the whole street, waiting for their children to get off the bus. Um. Since when can't kids walk to the bus stop?
We wonder why the kids in this country are over weight. Maybe walking 8 houses wouldn't be a bad thing for your chunk of a kid.

Bare with my plethora of topics. I have a lot to cover since life has actually taken me away from blogging as much as I personally would like.

First things first. Thomas Beatie is not a pregnant man. He is a woman who chooses to live life as a man. He has all FEMALE parts, no male parts, he had his breasts removed, he has a uterus, a vagina, ovaries, the whole package. SHE IS NOT A MAN!
So the fact that he is pregnant for a second time is not a medical miracle, its simple biology. Women get pregnant everyday. Its life.

Second on my list of things to address. Election day was an amazing day in History. Americans spoke, and lies were not the winner this year. Yes we can! And Yes we did!

Third on my agenda, Casey Anthony, thank god they arrested this bitch for the murder of her daughter. Took them long enough! There were developments in the case today, giving hope that this poor child's body would be found, but unfortunately the media ran with it too fast and there was no significant finding in the case. My thoughts are with the search teams in hopes they find this little girl so that the case in general can be semi closed, and the trial can be cut and dry.

Fourth, lets address Sarah Palin. Is she ever going to go away? Seriously. Ok, you lost. Go back to Alaska, and be that no name governor that no one ever heard of before McCain picked you to ruin his campaign. But of course, you are going to milk this for all its worth. I give it 6 months at most before you either have a book deal, or a reality TV show.

I am sorry but I went shopping for costumes not only for my kids, but for myself and my husband recently and could not find one costume I would actually wear. Do companies actually realize there are women out there that are not 20 something with these playmate bodies?

Over the past month I have watched and participated in a group on Cafemom that is strictly for debating among mothers. Which I find healthy because every mother needs a good adult disagreement or discussion every once and a while.
But the absolute amount of judgment and ignorance I have seen since I started reading and posting has prompted this blog.
First I find that women are more likely to condemn the unknown rather than actually learning and educating themselves more about the subject by reading statistics and published studies rather than childish gossip rhetoric.
An example, uterine rupture in VBAC. Women just want to listen to what the media and their money hungry OB/GYN tells them instead of actually researching facts. We all know that an OB/GYN would rather rake in an extra 10K for the scheduled c-section then promote a healthy, and safe VBAC that could get in the way of a good nights sleep, or a round of golf.
The judgmental words that I have watched spoken remind me of a time about a decade ago when I roamed the halls of a high school. Anyone ever see that movie Mean girls? Ya know the one with Lindsey Lohan as the new girl who gets tormented by the popular crowd. Ya that one!
These grown ass women remind me of that. Not trying to have an educational discussion, but instead flinging insults and degrading those who do not conform to what they think is right in their own pea brains.
While I say pea brains, I am being nice too.

Move on to another subject, religion. Which is touchy for so many. You have these holier than thou women who are single mothers, have different fathers for their children, some may be married, but seldom to the man who actually fathered their child or children trying to cast stones at women who choose not to believe in traditional Christian values. Welcome to America, this wonderful land found on religious freedom.
Now, back to the original point, these women are in no position to cast stones at a stone, let alone another person because they don't believe in a fairytale called the bible.
Don't like the way someone lives their life, get over it. It is none of your business!
Don't like that someone supports gay marriage or equality for all? Get over it! It is none of your business?

I know a lot of you have been waiting for this post this morning, or even hoping I stayed up last night to blog about the debate because it was that good. I am going to make this pretty short and sweet, even though I could probably go on for hours about it.

Sarah Palin read her script very well, but failed to directly answer any of the questions given to her. She may have rarely stumbled, but she kept using her back woods, po dunk phrases and comments when she felt backed into a corner.

You don't give "shout outs" in a VP debate. It is unprofessional and inappropriate. I wouldn't expect her to know any better because she is "main street wasilla". This is the big time lady, not Wasilla Alaska.

She continuously talked about her and John McCain are Mavericks and his senate record shows that, and shows he wants a change. All his record shows is he voted with Dubya 90% of the time, and that is not much of a change. It would just be 4 more years old Dubya, and failed policies that will continue to spiral this country into the ground. Which is where we are currently residing.

As for Sarah Palin's comment about her respect for women and womens rights, she is full of shit. She is the most misogynistic woman I have ever come across in my life. Her respect for women is only there if they are walking uterus's like the Duggar Mother who pops out kid after kid. Someone in Washington said it the best. Sarah Palin's greatest accomplishment has been not getting an abortion.
And on that note, if the McCain/Palin camp make it into the White House, you can kiss your abortion rights away.

These two are not mavericks, and they are Dubya and Dick. Except McCain has the brains in the operation, while all Palin has is the "look at me I am cute and when I can't answer a question I say funny things and make cute faces" going for her.
She is by no means qualified to be running Alaska, let alone the entire United States.

Ugly Betty/Grey's Anatomy Season Opening...

Was a flop. At least in my personal opinion. Ugly Betty has taken a turn that I just don't know if I am going to be able to follow. I wanted Betty to have Henry and Gio still in the picture. They are two very big characters in the show, and they are just going to write them off? It just doesn't make any sense. They were part of the huge season cliff hanger, and then you bring the show back, and neither of them are anywhere to be found? Come on!

As for Grey's Anatomy.... It was very touch and go. I like that new Army guy that came into the picture, and I have a feeling that he will be back and be a big part of the season, a total love interest for Kristina of course.
Meredith/Derek/Rose... disappointing... the whole "Derek, I am carrying your child" joke was just... dumb and they only used it to get more viewers from the previews. Same thing with the dead Derek dream.
The fact that the hospital has been downgraded, and won't be getting as many "trauma's" will also seriously effect the show because of the fact that, a good portion of the GOOD story lines revolve around the big medical cases.
George is still annoying, can they just get rid of him already?
The Alex story line has been going on long enough with a big mystery. Give us some kind of something already, people are starting to not care what his problem is.

Yesterday we went to a fair, a good portion of the fair was dirt ground, and you have these kids sitting in the dirt, taking their shoes off, kicking the dirt around playing in the dirt, and throwing the dirt at STRANGERS. Where were their parents? WHO KNOWS???
There were various shows and exhibits.... the kids were going on the other side of the rope into areas that they weren't supposed to be in.... Where are their parents?????

Fundamentalists nothing changes or gets better or evolves.

She does not believe in global warming.
The melting of the
arctic, the storms that are destroying our cities, the
pollution and rise of cancers, are all part of God's
plan.
She is fighting to take the polar bears off the
endangered species list.
The earth, in Palin's view, is
here to be taken and plundered.
The wolves and the bears are
here to be shot and plundered.
The oil is here to be taken
and plundered. Iraq is here to be taken and plundered.
As
she said herself of the Iraqi war, "It was a task from
God.

Sarah Palin does not believe in abortion.
She does
not believe women who are raped and incested and ripped open
against their will should have a right to determine whether
they have their rapist's baby or not.

She obviously does not believe in sex education or
birth control.
I imagine her daughter was practicing
abstinence and we know how many babies that makes.

Sarah Palin does not much believe in thinking.
From
what I gather she has tried to ban books from the library,
has a tendency to dispense with people who think
independently.
She cannot tolerate an environment of
ambiguity and difference.
This is a woman who could and
might very well be the next president of the United States.

She would govern one of the most diverse populations on the
earth.

Sarah believes in guns.
She has her own custom
Austrian hunting rifle.
She has been known to kill 40
caribou at a clip.
She has shot hundreds of wolves from the
air.

Sarah believes in God.
That is of course her right,
her private right.
But when God and Guns come together in
the public sector, when war is declared in God's name,
when the rights of women are denied in his name, that is the
end of separation of church and state and the undoing of
everything America has ever tried to be.

I write to my sisters.
I write because I believe we
hold this election in our hands.
This vote is a vote that
will determine the future not just of the U.S.

planet.
It will determine whether we create policies to save

Then there is Cindy McCain, this bitter bitch. She thought that going on ABC's "The View" was going to be a great experience for her and her husband, and another way to help win over the Amerian Housewife vote, well that backfired in their faces because they didn't let Miss Mouthy Bitch Elizabeth Hasselback be the front voice for the interview.
Instead they had to hold their own with Joy Baytar who went toe to toe with Mc. McCain.
Here are my comments on the interview...

While speaking of Governor Palin, he says "She is the most popular Governor in America" which is not a factual statement. She was a nobody until you picked her to be your VP, and if you didn't pick her to be your VP, she would still be flying under the radar as an Alaska nobody.
Now, John McCain says that he chose Sarah Palin to help "reform" our government, yet she has ruined the town she was Mayor of in Alaska and created the biggest debt in ages. But you want her to start playing with billions upon trillions of dollars for the National Government?? Our debt is already great enough in this country, we don't need anymore because lipstick pitbull wants to pretend like she actually knows what she is doing.

Now if John McCain thinks that him and Sarah Palin, alone, are going to take over the "Good Ol' Boy" network in Washington and run out special interests, he is an idiot. He has been in their pockets, and she will find a cozy place right in their pockets also, but that is IF we ALLOW them to get into office.

Now here comes the good stuff, Joy basically says, The adds John McCain is running with his approval, saying that when Obama said a pig with lipstick he was talking about Sarah Palin, an add saying that Obama approves sex education for kindergartens, John McCain actually tries to say that those are facts. It is like a train wreck, I really don't want to watch, but I can't help but to look.
I had to watch part 2 of Sarah Palin's interview with Charlie Gibson last night, and it again, confirmed my thoughts that she is not fit to run this country, and it also confirmed my very bold opinion that she is in fact a misogynist. Here we go....

Now trying to compare Wasilla Alaska to the United States as a hole is simply foolish. The rest of the country or world in general is nothing like this small town Alaskan city. The issues that someone in Atlanta or New York city is feeling, is nothing like Wasilla. (Oh, and on a side note, what is with the closed fist with the thumb sticking out waving trying to make a point?)
Obama regretting not picking Hilary Clinton? I doubt it. Obama and Biden do not need some family circus surrounding them to win the White House. They do not need a female on their campaign to try and bring in the woman vote. They can win on experience alone. John McCain realized the only way he was going to even get any kind of a momentum is with picking a controversial no name woman and it worked.
But remember, there is still 2 months to the election, and the momentum you have now, is not going to last after Biden wipes the floor with you in the VP debate.
(Another side note... The GOP is not a party of change, it never will be a party of change, it is a party of rich old white men that would rather have the both of you assassinated before you change what they have created in the past 8 years.)

Now all these "solutions" that Sarah Palin brought forth for helping to strengthen the economy are all democratic values, all things the democrats have been trying to implement into change in this country for years. I wonder if Sarah Palin thinks that she is running on the democratic ticket? Because it sure sounds like she and John McCain are not on the same page.
Sarah Palin entered office in Wasilla, Alaska with NO debt, and left with a 13+ million dollar debt. Oh ok, she is a republican. PHEW!

Ok, so lets change people losing their homes, lets change the taxes, and lower them, lets make health care affordable, lets get people some jobs to lower the unemployment rates.... Wow, I am pretty sure those are all things the Obama campaign has been going on since he started running for president. Hmmm... Again, I think you are disagreeing with John McCain here.
Now, why don't you give Mr. Gibson a real answer instead of dancing around the issues. He is asking you direct questions, you are not answering those questions, the man can only ask you the same thing 3 or 4 times before he has to move on to the next question.
Are you really this dim witted?

Of course you are a "Washington outsider" but give it a couple years and you will be in the pockets of special interest groups, just like every other Republican who is in Washington, just like your "maverick" John McCain. He wants to say he is not in the pocket of anyone, yet the FACTS show differently.

You were on board with this "bridge to nowhere" until it started making you look like you had mud on your face. Now that Alaska has already got millions upon millions of dollars in this process, you are against it. Sounds a little hypocritical.

OK, now here we are at my most hot button issue in this election. Roe V. Wade. When Charlie Gibson asked Governor Palin if she thinks that Roe V. Wade should be reversed... she said YES!
Little does she know HOW MANY women votes she lost with that answer alone. She believes that the issue of abortion should be decided on a STATE by STATE government. But the problem with that is, if a MAJORITY in one state believes that abortion should be illegal, those poor women that do believe abortion should be legal, and need abortion services are going to be screwed. Back alley abortions are going to start all over again. But she is so pro woman right?
Saying that a "culture of life" is best for America because that is what you believe in is just not going to work. Not every woman in America wants their greatest accomplishment in life to be not having an abortion and pushing out kid after kid like you have done.
You want women to embrace their other options, but you, yourself, CUT funding for programs that assist teen mothers in Alaska. Seems a little hypocritical huh?

Stem cell research, you differ in opinion on John McCain.
Abortion in cases of rape and incest, you differ in opinion on John McCain.
You are not giving clear answers. Charlie Gibson has no idea what you are saying!

Gay Marriage, you are against, but you aren't going to judge them, you just wont allow them to get married if you have any say in it.
Fully automatic weapons (just what we need on the streets of America) 70% of this country supports a ban on semi automatic weapons on the streets, Sarah Palin, of Po Dunk Alaska thinks they should be allowed.
Well guess what... in South Central LA, they aren't hunting ELK, they are hunting humans, the humans and culture of life you so whole heartedly support NEVER being killed. Maybe you should think about that?

As for her opinion on running a country and managing a family of 7 at the same time.
Well obviously she isn't doing that great as a parent considering her oldest son who is now serving our military was doing drugs, her 17 year old daughter is pregnant, and her youngest child needs special medical attention and special attention because of his downs syndrome. The only person in this family that is going to miss out is that baby because he is not going to get the attention and special care that he needs from his parents, instead he will have some stranger doting on him.

That is really all I have to say about this until the next interview comes out. I am so disgusted by the Americans that actually support this bimbo, and I am even more disgusted by her and John McCain.
She is clearly not qualified. She is clearly not able to run this country in the case of something happening to John McCain, she can't even answer a straight question.

Opening, on September 11th, 2008, 7 years after the horrible terrorist attack on our country, which changed our world forever, for Sarah Palin to sit there, and say, she is READY to run the country in the event that something happened to John McCain, is nothing more than a bold faced lie to the American people. Her experience in National Security and Foreign Policy alone, show how inexperienced she is.
Now the lack of hesitation she has to take the VP spot, knowing her lack of experience on the se major issues does not help out our country or help the McCain ticket out, what it does it showcase her selfish nature. She wanted this position. She did not consider the thoughts or opinions of others including her small children, and teens who are already clearly screaming for attention they clearly aren't getting at home.
Now, she continues to bring up the commitment that she, and John McCain have to "reforming"" this country, yet she doesn't have enough commitment to care for her children and be a more involved mother...

Smartcar's - Go head to head with a soccer mom behind the wheel of a hummer and see how fuel efficient that car will be when you are dead.
American Idol - It was good the first 3-4 seasons, now you are producing no talent loud mouths like Jordan Sparks and Sanjaya. Bring back William Hung!
TV's inside Cars - Ok, I have children and still refuse to put TV's inside my car. Lazy American children watch too much TV as it is.
Jewelry - Good luck when you have children because all those nice rings and bling is going to sit in your jewelry box.
Designer Birth - Birth is not meant to be fashionable or predictable. Give up your scheduled c-sections and posh expectations, and deal with birth the way it is meant to be, natural.
Big fake tits - You look like a moron, not a model.
IPODs - You do not need to have an ipod attached to you every where you do. Music is not that life altering or important. The gym is one thing, WORKING is another.
Bugaboo Strollers - Spending $900 for a baby stroller is not cool or cutting edge. It is a flat out waste of money.
Facebook - Who even knows how to work that knock off myspace sight anyways? Not to mention, who really wants to be in contact with people they went to school with? Aren't those the ones we are all normally scrambling to avoid?
Nanny's - Just because you can pay Maria from Mexico $4 a week to raise your child does not mean that you should. If you want to have children, raise them yourself. And we wonder why kids today have so many issues? Ever think it is lack of parenting?

Pets - I know all kids should have pets, but they are just like having more kids. I didn't sign up to raise a couple more because little Jimmy wanted a puppy.
Cell phones - Great in cases of emergencies, but seriously, can people not function without a phone connected to their ear or fingers texting non stop all day? How about you just wait till you get home, you aren't that important.
Video Games - Waiting in line, for 3 days, in the snow, is not worth a Nintendo Wii...
Angelina Jolie - I just don't get it I guess. She is not all that pretty, her lips may be real but they look like flotation devices, and adopting a child from every country is not neat, you are just screwing those children up American style instead of whatever country they come from.
Showers for two - When was the last time your normal American couple really felt the need to shower together? Hell, shower time is my time away from my husband, and children, I dont feel the need to turn it into a community event.

Well today at the grocery store... I parked away from EVERYONE. There was plenty of front row parking.. and all of a sudden just as I parked... this BIG ASS TRUCK pulls up SO CLOSE to me that I couldn't open my door to get my child out of the back seat.

Today I had to bring one of my family members to the urologist in the hospital. While we waited for over 3 hours, we saw several people come and go, one being a child about 10 years old. Give or take a year or two.

This child proceeded to accidentally lose his gum out of his mouth, and it landed on the floor.
HE PROCEEDED TO PICK THE GUM UP..... His mother then stopped and asked him what he was doing... and he puts it back in his mouth and starts chewing....

It is 2008, not 1908.... Car seat Safety is EVERYWHERE! There is no excuse to be ignorant to the laws and not have your child properly restrained while in a moving vehicle. I do not care if this is a car, mini van, or a golf cart. Accidents still happen, and it is still the law.

No, it is not Britney Spears that sparked my rant today, but if I didn't know any better, I would say our public figure being careless with their infant's life today is related to the Spears family.

Our Golden Girl Sarah Palin, VP pick for the McCain campaign, drove around Point MacKenzie Correctional Farm with her son in her arms while on a tour with the warden. A few days after this incident occurred, Palin was contacted by her Public Safety Commissioner and received a warning about not strapping her two month old infant into a car seat for the ride around the facility, after someone apparently complained about her actions.

Hell, I would complain about it too! The child was barely 2 months old when it happened.

Palin dismissed the complaint and warning as petty and no action was taken against Palin at the time. (By the commissioner whom she appointed)

Palin used her "hockey mom, family woman, working mother" and made her family a political center piece to get her into the Governors chair, but now that the tables have been turned she wants her family (who got her to where she is today) left out of it. You cannot have your cake, and eat it too.

When Saturday rolls around... I do not want to be bothered by anything.
Children, husbands, cleaning, pets, phone calls, telemarketers, nothing...

So I got dragged to the mall today, and now I fully remember why I do not go to the mall during the weekend. Too many teeny bopper, Britney Spears wanna-be's, throwin' down the F bomb like it is cool, making out with their boyfriends in the food court...

Its ok though because you can live off of WIC, Food Stamps, and Medicaid while others in the real world have to bust their asses to provide you with all those "free" luxuries.

As for the mass amounts of people who don't understand the English language... or speak it... LEARN IT OR GO HOME! I got a little bit of a rant today. About freecycle this time.

In my local freecycle I have noticed a lot of e-mails from the same people requesting big, expensive, outlandish items on freecycle. It is not for needy people, it is a recycling type program, to keep UNWANTED things from going into the garbage.

Not so your ass can furnish an entire baby nursery without spending a dime.
If you cant afford a baby, or furniture for a baby, a crib, or a stroller, or a carseat....

DON'T GET PREGNANT!

Don't complain because NO ONE answers your WANTED add for 72 things for your expected baby.

Suicide rates may set another record

Lets stop for a moment and take the focus off the Republican National Convention and shed some light on a serious issue that is has been plaguing our country since the start of this nonsense was in Iraq. Now before people start to get uppity and complain that I have no right to talk because I haven't been there let me lay this cold hard truth out on the line.
I have lost a family member, and a friend in that war. I had a friend come home with one leg and is now trying to overcome chronic pain and problems because of the damage done to him. I see it first hand.

Reports are showing right now that the suicide rate among soldiers may set another record HIGH this year. Which I think needs to be the major focus of attention is getting all of our service members home, ALIVE. Not how many more years John McCain can keep up in a country that we had no business invading to begin with.
Can the "Pro War" mongers not see that this is taking a serious toll on our service men and women? Do you think that a record high suicide rate is actually acceptable?

I can tell you as an American citizen, tax payer, and voter, no it is not acceptable and any candidate that continues this sham of a war in the Middle East needs a real reality check.

We need to get out of Iraq before we lose anymore of our brave men and women.

The amount of her outfit is the amount we paid for our 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 1 car garage, on a half acre of land home in a upper middle class suburb.
For what she spent on clothes and accessories, she could out right buy MULTIPLE homes for hurricane Katrina victims that are still out of a home almost 3 years after the fact.

First of all, there were more people in the convention hall Sarah Palin just addressed than in her home state. (FACT, thank you ABC)
Well, a few reflections of Pompous Palin's speech.
Just because John McCain served in Vietnam (like MANY men in his age group did) does not mean he is automatically qualified to be President.
She stated he is not in the pockets of big oil, or big Washington buyouts... which we all know is pure bullshit.
She compared herself to a dog, which seems fitting.
She could do nothing but take shots at the Obama Campaign in a nasty, belittling, and demeaning way. So McCain, and Palin have no room to talk when people do the same to them. If they feel the need to put others down in that type of way, they should expect the same and not cry about it.

Hypocrites much.

As for Mr. Levi Johnston... when you are on national TV, LIVE, in front of millions of people.... THROW OUT THE GUM! Kid was sitting there chomping on his juice fruit like it was all he ate all day.

And for Ms. Bristol Palin, I am sorry little girl, but you are NOT 5 months pregnant, either that or you are starving yourself. Eat something!

I had to watch the season premiere of the new 90210 series, because in my hay day I was a die hard watcher. To the point where I still continue to watch the re-runs on Soapnet on a daily basis. My husband makes fun of me because I know half the lines and have the 90210 Graduation special on VHS. Yup, remember those? LOL

I am really glad that I tuned in tonight. I love it how they mixed in Hannah, Andrea's daughter, Erin "Silver", David Silver and Kelly Taylor (now Mathews) little sister... I think that it is going to be a hit and I will be watching week after week.

Congrats to the WB! This is the first show on that network I have made a point to tune in for and they blew me out of the water.

Lets just hope the whole season is like this and not just the season premiere to rope people in.

Being the nosy bitch I am, I have been trying to follow the Bristol Palin pregnancy drama since Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy isn't back yet.

Today the mystery baby daddy Levi's myspace page made it to the public eye. Are we really surprised? Silly for the McCain Campaign to not double check little things like that already.
So the page made public for a short period of time, but long enough to expose Sarah Palin's minor daughter getting drunk with her baby daddy and friends. The pictures have been plastered all over the internet all day, here are a couple....

Now, I can tell you, when I was that age, I could have never got away with that. EVER. But Mrs. Palin and Mr. McCain continue to try and get the family votes yet this is an example of what Mrs. Palins family is really doing. Maybe if she spent some more time with her children and focused more on her family rather than campaigning and trying to take over the world, her 17 year old would not be plastered on the internet drinking and pregnant.

As for the young boy's myspace profile, he clearly stated that "hockey is my life" and isn't interested in child, because it also clearly stated "I do not want children".

I almost feel bad for this young girl, it seems as though she is screaming for attention in some kind of way that she is not getting someplace else.

Since Friday when Sarah Palin was announced as John McCain's VP pick, a lot has come out about this virtually unknown Governor of Alaska. But the one thing that gets me the most is her suspicious pregnancy, announcement of the pregnancy, labor story, and really everything that went along with her mysterious fifth child.

Most women, senators, Governors, Celebrities, and people in the spotlight feel the need to announce their pregnancy long before the 6-7 month mark rolls around. I just don't understand why it was such a big secret for a outspoken, pro life, Governor not to tell anyone till well into her Third Trimester.

Why get on a plane and fly over 8 hours to give a speech when you are in your last month of pregnancy with a child you know will need special medical care at birth? It is a very rare occasion where an OB/GYN will allow a patient to jet set across the country for such a big and draining event that close to delivery.

Then to actually leak amniotic fluid the morning of your speech, call your OB/GYN and have them agree to go ahead and continue your plans, knowing you are in premature labor?
Or what about after that speech is over, calling your OB/GYN for the OK to fly over 8 hours when it is a very large possibility you will give birth to a premature, special needs child while on this flight?

It just doesn't make sense.
As a mother, who has been through it, I just don't see it adding up.
This is not a personal attack, it is just me being confused as hell wondering what the big mystery to this story is that hasn't come out yet. Because with such random, "off", and suspicious circumstances surrounding this, it will only be so long before the truth will need to come out in an attempt to save the McCain Campaign.

Sorry John McCain, but trying to push the gender card did nothing but put a nail in your campaign coffin.

*EDIT UPDATE* Less than 5 minutes after this was posted, it was confirmed that Bristol Palin, Sarah Palin's oldest daughter is currently pregnant at the age of 17. She will "keep the baby" (of course because that is what pro life parents force their children to believe is right, and do) and marry the boy who knocked her up. While it would be close, Trigg Palin could STILL be the son of Bristol Palin since according to her mother Sarah, Bristol is 5 months pregnant.
Obviously Sarah Palin's first priority is not the truth.
Obviously her backing of abstinence only education is not working in the Alaska School System if her 17 year old child is having a child herself.
Obviously there is a problem in the household if this 17 year old child was able to get pregnant.
